Woman sent to court for $10,000 fraud


The Phnom Penh Police’s Serious Crimes Bureau sent a woman to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on January 24, 2025, in connection with a case of fraud of nearly $10,000.

On January 21, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., the Phnom Penh Municipal Police’s Serious Crimes Bureau arrested a woman named Yin Romny, a 37-year-old Cambodian woman working as a midwife, residing at 459, Street 2005, North Poprak Village, Kakap Sangkat, Por Sen Chey District, Phnom Penh, on charges of fraud.

The arrest of the above-mentioned female suspect was made pursuant to a summons issued by Lim Bun Heng, Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, ordering Yin Romny, a 37-year-old woman, to appear at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court’s prosecutor’s office before January 30, 2025 during business hours to be questioned on a criminal complaint for fraud filed by her lawyer, Yang Samphavuth.

The suspect is currently in the prosecution’s investigation phase.
