Police are investigating a major shooting incident that left 3 people dead.
The incident took place on the evening of February 7, 2025, in Ampok village, Krek commune, Ponhea Krek district, Tboung Khmum province.
Initial reports indicate that the shooting, carried out by the gunman, a military police officer named Hing Sovannrith, left his father-in-law dead, his mother-in-law dead, his wife and brother-in-law seriously injured, and a security guard seriously injured after shooting them with an AK47 weapon.
The gunman then shot himself.
In total, the incident left three people dead and three seriously injured.
The root cause of the shooting has not yet been confirmed by the authorities, as they are currently questioning those involved and conducting research at the scene of the incident, only at the victim’s home.
