CDC approves 7 new investment projects with a capital of $123 million

The Royal Government, through the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), has decided and approved seven Qualified Investment Projects (QIPs) with a total investment of approximately $123 million. The projects can create approximately 2,000 jobs.

According to a CDC press release, on July 7, the Cambodian Investment Board, led by Secretary-General Chea Vuthy, held a one-stop meeting to review and approve the registration applications for seven qualified investment projects.

These projects are expected to create approximately 2,000 jobs and cover five industrial sectors—manufacturing furniture and components, kitchenware from plastic and metal, lifting equipment, machinery and secondary materials from metal and plastic, and electrical equipment and home appliances—along with one agricultural and agro-industrial sector (rubber processing), in addition to one tourism sector project involving the construction and operation of a 227-room, 5-star hotel.

The seven aforesaid investment projects are located in Phnom Penh, Kampong Speu Province, Takeo Province, and Tbong Khmum Province. CDC
