Ham Arun, Deputy Director of the Battambang Provincial Department of Tourism, said that during the two-day Khmer Food Fair from December 29 to 30, 2024, Battambang Province received more than 90,000 domestic and international tourists.
Arun highlighted that the statistics of tourists who came to Battambang Province to celebrate the New Year 2024-2025 on December 29, 2024, were 39,295, an increase of 3.77% compared to 2023. On December 30, 2024, a total of 54,114 domestic tourists were received, an increase of 4.14% compared to 2023.
The Deputy Director called on citizens and national and international tourists to enjoy the fun in Battambang province in large numbers at the food fair on the last day and other fun programmes during the New Year’s Eve celebration on the night of December 31, 2024.
Under the initiative of Sok Loo, Governor of Battambang Provincial Government, the Battambang Provincial Administration has been organising a 3-day Khmer food and dessert exhibition in front of the provincial hall to celebrate the 2024-2025 New Year’s Eve and promote Khmer products, as well as create a happy atmosphere for citizens and national and international tourists.
What is even more special is that on the night of December 31, 2024, there will be a large-scale concert, fireworks, and a countdown to the new year to celebrate the new year.
