Samdech Techo and Samdech Kittiprittpundit scholarships contribute to human resource development (VIDEO)

Pich Chanmony, Chairwoman of the Scholarship Committee for Underprivileged Students under the Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen Foundation, said that these scholarships have played a vital role in the development of Cambodia’s human capital.

She made the remarks on Friday morning at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, while presiding over a gathering of more than 2,000 recipients of the Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen scholarships for the 2024–2025 academic year.

During the event, Pich Chanmony, who is also the First Lady of Cambodia, conveyed warm regards from Senate President Hun Sen and Bun Rany Hun Sen to all scholarship recipients.

She noted that the Royal Government of the Seventh Legislature of the National Assembly, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, has introduced the Pentagonal Strategy – Phase I, which focuses on job creation, social equity, efficiency, and sustainability.

At the core of this strategy is a strong emphasis on human capital development, with the ultimate vision of transforming Cambodia into a high-income nation by 2050.

Pich Chanmony added that high-quality, healthy human resources are a national asset essential for driving economic growth, enriching cultural values, and fostering innovation. These factors are key to ensuring long-term economic sustainability and resilient socio-economic development.

To support the government’s development goals, the Scholarship Committee will continue providing opportunities for students to pursue higher education both domestically and abroad. These efforts align with the government’s broader strategies aimed at achieving Cambodia’s 2050 vision.

Pich Chanmony also acknowledged the vital role of educational institutions, NGOs, associations, businesses, banks, and philanthropists in expanding scholarship opportunities. Their contributions have helped build a well-rounded, skilled, and ethical workforce to drive national development.

She expressed deep gratitude to all stakeholders for their dedication, expertise, and commitment to this noble cause, which serves the nation and its people. AKP
